Approximately once a month the entire club attends a 'Time Trial' where time
are taken in events to chart progress in the UDASC performance award scheme, or
an aquatics session to provide swimmers with a wider exposure to other swimming
disciplines such as water polo, canoeing, and personal survival/water
safety.
Various events are offered at Time Trials and coaches will advise
the swimmers which events to enter. All swimmers are required to
attend as this is a crucial part of their swimming development and club
unity.
UDASC Performance Awards are based on time standards
identifying Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum levels. Certificates
are awarded twice yearly at the UDASC Club Awards Ceremony held in December and
June.
We also hold our Club Sprint Gala in June and our annual
Distance Championships take place each month from September to
December. Medals are awarded for the top three places in all events,
and age group trophies/plaques for overall winners.
All
parents are expected to help out at club events with regards to
timekeeping etc. For the current timekeepers' rota, please click
here. If you are unable to make it on your rostered date,
please swap with another parent.
